“SMAT” stands for “School of Missionary Aviation Technology.” We provide mission-driven students with FAA-certified training in aircraft maintenance and flight. Our specialty is preparing individuals to serve the Lord in mission aviation.
What we offer at SMAT is a professional, certified curriculum in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We’re a small school with small class sizes so students have close relationships with instructors and other students. You will find that everyone at SMAT shares a common goal which is to make an impact on God’s kingdom through aviation.
SMAT hosted its 2017 Annual Banquet on Saturday, October 14, 2017. We are thankful to all of you who were able to attend, and who committed to provide financial support for the ongoing work of the school. We enjoyed hearing Neil DuBois tell his story of an accident that looked like it would totally derail his plans to serve as a missionary pilot. God used that event to change the course of Neil’s life which would eventually lead him to serve as the Chief Flight Instructor at SMAT (on loan from Wycliffe/JAARS). Here is a link to the video of Neil’s story as he presented it at the banquet:
This video gives you a quick look at the training Pete Young received at SMAT in preparation for a career change in which God led him and his family to serve with AIM Air in Africa.
Learn about how you can contribute to the sustainability and growth of our mission-driven aviation school: donate money to help pay for student scholarships, facilities, and instructional supplies; donate aircraft to help improve our training capacity; volunteer for aircraft clean-up or instructional support.
(SMAT is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.)
